Why Oliver Loves This Coffee

La Mirella and the Chacon family, who cultivate it, hold a special place in my life. Finca La Mirella, along with the micro mill Las Lajas, where they process the coffee from their family farms, marked my initial direct connection with a coffee producer. I first became acquainted with Finca La Mirella after it secured the 16th position in the 2008 Costa Rica Cup of Excellence. Subsequently, I procured their coffee at the Cup of Excellence Auction, as, at the time, I exclusively sourced organic coffee beans, and this farm was the sole certified organic producer to achieve such recognition.
The Chacon family's micro mill, Las Lajas, helped establish them as true experts in natural coffee processing in Central America. Acquiring a lot of La Mirella coffee is like a homecoming for me, and I have a deep appreciation for both this coffee and the Chacon family.
